The Supreme Court just announced that it will expedite the Trump administration's appeal of its travel ban executive order.

The GOP leadership is applauding, but the truth is that they are terrified. They are terrified that they will actually have to take action to defend the Trump administration.

Paul Ryan thinks he's in a win-win position. If the Supreme Court restores the executive order, he can celebrate along with the President without having to take any of the risk. If the order is struck down, he can claim that he was right all along.

The GOP is playing political games with the safety and security of the American people. They are no better than the Democrats!

Congressional leadership is playing a game. If the Supreme Court smacks down the President, then Paul Ryan can claim that he was right all along. If the order is upheld, then Ryan and Co. can claim victory alongside the President without having to risk anything.

They are playing games with our security. They are willing to sacrifice American lives at the altar of political correctness as long as it means they come out on top, politically.

It is unconscionable to leave it up to Justice Kennedy when you have the power right now to take action and protect the United States, regardless of what the Supreme Court decides.

Your predecessors tried to settle this years ago. They gave the President wide latitude to bar any class of aliens that he determines would be detrimental to the United States. Now, activist judges are trying to rewrite the law.

You have an OBLIGATION to take pre-emptive action and protect the Executive's authority from this judicial activism.

If you think you can sit on the sidelines and claim victory - one way or another - you are mistaken!
