Yesterday, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson met with world leaders and signed onto a statement supporting the UN Climate Treaty. Today, the United Nations is celebrating, assuming that they have bested President Trump and his supporters.

Former-President Obama signed onto the treaty without Congressional ratification, funneled a billion dollars to it without Congressional appropriation, and then began implementing it by executive order without Congressional passage. All of this was done illegally and unconstitutionally.

President Trump promised to withdraw from this treaty. Now, the Establishment Wing of the White House is pressuring Trump to change course. They are pressuring him to stay in.

I am writing to tell you that this is unacceptable.

The United States Constitution gives you and your colleagues in Congress authority over ratifying international treaties, appropriating funding, and passing laws. This treaty usurps all three of those authorities.

To leave this treaty on the books is to tell the world that they can force their agendas onto the American people without consequence. It is to tell future Presidents that they can legislate from the oval office as long as they attach their agenda to international agreements.

But aside from that, the UN Climate Treaty is simply bad for America. It takes tax payer money and gives it to countries like India and China to help upgrade their manufacturing sector. Meanwhile, these same countries are stealing American jobs.

It makes no sense.

It is up to you to reassert your Constitutional authorities and withdraw the United States from the UN Climate Treaty and I am writing to DEMAND that you do just that!
