President Trump just shot across Congress' bow.

If they refuse to fund the border wall this week, he is threatening to veto the bill and shut down the government. He is also telling Democrats that he will withdraw federal dollars from Obamacare subsidies if they don't fall in-line as well.

President Trump campaigned on a promise to build a wall along the southern border. The American people elected him on this promise.

Right now, DHS Secretary John Kelly has been able to reappropriate $20 million into the border wall program so they can begin accepting bids for wall designs. But that money will not last long.

The President is asking for a little over $1 billion to repair/upgrade current fencing along the southern border and to construct a wall along an additional 60 miles of frontier.

This is not a big ask.

Some of your colleagues are vehemently opposed to helping secure the southern border. They are even willing to vote against money allocated to repairing existing fencing.

Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell have so far been adamant that the wall will not be funded this upcoming week. That resolve seems to be cracking.

President Trump needs the funding. The White House has even insinuated that the President would be willing to shutdown the government over this.

Some of your colleagues are already trying to spin this to blame Trump for any potential shutdown. I want to be absolutely clear: If you refuse to fund this vital national security infrastructure project, then the blame will fall at your feet.

If you and your colleagues are willing to shut down the government to prevent the President from installing even 60 miles of walls along the southern border, then We the People will have no choice but to replace you with someone who takes national security seriously...
