In recent days, the Trump administration has been rounding up illegal aliens with criminal convictions. Republicans in Congress are determined to stop him.

They have introduced the "Bar Removal of Individuals who Dream and Grow our Economy Act.” This bill would let illegal alien criminals stay in the country if they were determined to be a "benefit" to their community.

It is the ultimate betrayal. Not only would it make Obama's amnesty permanent, but it would go even farther.

This Monday, an illegal alien named Elizabeth Vargas-Hernandez decided to drive intoxicated, without a license. Not only did she have no training on how to operate a motor vehicle, but she was driving drunk as well.

She rear-ended a car driven by a man named David Kriehn and sent it careening into a ditch. The driver she struck did not survive. He was a former missionary.

I am telling you this story because two years ago, this same woman was arrested for driving without a license. She was given leniency and spared deportation because it was determined to be a "victimless crime."

Now, an American is dead. Another innocent life sacrificed on the altar of political correctness.

We can directly trace the moment she received leniency all the way to this week's incident of vehicular manslaughter. Cause and effect. If she had been deported when she was caught illegally operating a motor vehicle, this man would still be alive today.

I am writing to you today because there is a disturbing trend growing in Congress: that illegal aliens should be allowed to commit crimes. Your Republican colleagues have introduced the "Bar Removal of Individuals who Dream and Grow our Economy Act.” (HR496/S128)

This bill would turn a blind eye to crimes like drunk driving and identity theft in order to help illegal aliens stay in the country.

How many crimes should an illegal alien be allowed to commit? How many identities should they be allowed to steal? How many times should they be allowed to drive drunk?

The answer is ZERO. However, some of your colleagues believe the answer is more than one.

If you pass this bill, people like David Kriehn will continue to die.

You must kill this legislation. This would take Barack Obama's amnesty and expand on it.

It is not enough to pledge to vote against it. You must kill it.
