A Federal Judge in Seattle just exceeded his authority and shut down President Donald Trump's refugee ban and extreme vetting executive order.

Even though other judges let their injunctions expire after they learned the executive order had nothing to do with a "Muslim ban," this one judge has essentially reverted the United States back to Barack Obama's refugee policy.

It's madness.

We cannot afford to wait for this to work through the Judiciary. It is time to force Congress to intervene!

Yesterday, a Federal Judge in Boston allowed his injunction against President Trump's refugee ban to expire.

The ACLU pushed him to make the ruling permanent, but after the Judge actually read the executive order, he concluded that it was not a "Muslim ban" and frankly told the plaintiffs that they would not win on the merits of their case.

Hours later, a Federal Judge in Seattle intervened and shut down the executive order nationwide.

Section 1182(f) of the US Code plainly states that the President has the authority to turn away any alien or any class of aliens that he deems would be detrimental to the United States if allowed to enter the country. It was passed in the Immigration and Nationailty Act of 1952.

Now, these activist judges are undoing 65 years of precedent allowing the Executive Branch to set immigration and refugee quotas. Even though the American people rejected the failed refugee policies of Obama and Clinton, this Federal Judge has reinstated Obama's unvetted refugee program.

It's just madness.

It is not up to the Judiciary to set refugee quotas. Congress gave that power to the Executive.

To allow this Federal Judge's ruling to stand would be to eliminate the government's authority to turn people away. This is the open border activists' dream and you MUST stop it from moving forward!

There is legislation in both the House and Senate that would reinstate Trump's ban and force the administration to perform "extreme vetting" on refugees and immigrants before allowing them into the US.

You must re-introduce this legislation and send it to Trump's desk!
