Last night, the Senate formally began the process of repealing Obamacare. We are on schedule to repeal this monstrosity of a law as soon as Donald Trump takes office.

But now, parts of the GOP establishment are having second thoughts. They're not sure if they want to go through with what they've been promising the American people for the past 6 years.

It was opposition to Obamacare that helped the Republican Party retake control of the House. Mitch McConnell rode this same discontent and gained control of the Senate in 2014.

Last night, you and your colleagues began the process of repealing Obamacare. Because Harry Reid used the reconciliation process to pass the Affordable Care Act, you and your colleagues can repeal it without having to deal with a Democratic filibuster.

We have never been closer to repealing this law. You have never been closer to fulfilling the promise you made to your constituents.

But as the finish line comes into sight, establishment Republicans are starting to come out of the woodwork. You know exactly who these people are. They are your colleagues who could switch parties without anyone noticing.

We don't have a lot of wiggle room here. It takes 51 votes in the Senate to repeal Obamacare. If more than one Republican defects, it's over.

Now is not the time to argue over details. Any repeal bill that is passed will go into effect gradually. You will have plenty of time to work out the details of system to replace Obamacare. But if you allow this discussion to get in the way with the repeal effort, it will never happen.
