It has been a year since Kate Steinle was needlessly gunned down by an illegal alien who had been deported 5 times.

In that year, we have seen Kate's Law get introduced to stop the re-entry of deported illegal alien criminals and in the time you and your colleagues have spent procrastinating, countless Americans have been killed and victimized by illegal aliens. We have seen legislation introduced to defund sanctuary cities and stop Obama from giving law enforcement grants to cities that refuse to enforce the law. Many of these illegal alien perpetrators had been previously deported.

Even this week, an illegal alien with a felony record was allowed to get back into the country and sexually assault a 7-year-old girl.

I don't care what your view on immigration is, we cannot live in a country where illegal alien criminals can be caught re-crossing our borde, commit heinous felonies against innocent people, and the judge has the option to just levy a fine...

Kate's Law is just 269-words long. It amends the penal code to implement mandatory minimums for violent illegal alien criminals who are deported and caught re-entering the US.

The bill to defund sanctuary cities is equally simple and declares Federal law enforcement grants to be off-limits for any city that refuses to enforce the law.

Under Kate's law, anyone convicted of a violent felony and deported would face a mandatory minimum of 5-years in prison if caught re-entering. If, after serving their prison term, they are deported and try to sneak in again, the minimum jumps to 10-years. The next time, the penalty is 20-years.

Right now, the mandatory minum for a convicted rapist caught illegally re-entering the United States is a fine. This is madness.

But passing Kate's Law is not enough. You need to pass its partner legislation and defund sanctuary cities. As long as cities and municipalities are able to shield illegal aliens from prosecution, Kate's Law remains unenforceable.

It's been a year since Kate's murder.  Another innocent child was just victimized at the hands of an illegal alien repeat offender.

You have the ability to put both of these bills on Obama's desk using the reconciliation process to circumvent a filibuster. This is what you MUST do!

Pass these two common-sense bills or I'll have to replace you with someone who will!
