Paul Ryan let it slip yesterday behind closed doors that he was scheduling a gun control vote to give the Democrats exactly what they want.

It takes just 31 Republican Congressmen to vote with Democrats and the unconstitutional "No Fly, No Buy" legislation will pass the House.

After that, it will take just 6 more Republican Senators to vote for the Collins Amendment and then it'll pass the Senate.

Then, with the stroke of a pen, Barack Obama will sign it and give the government the power to suspend someone's constitutional right to keep and bear arms without even charging them with a crime.

This is unacceptable.

If the government believes someone is too dangerous to own a firearm, and has evidence that they pose a threat, then they should charge them with a crime. This legislation would completely turn our justice system on its head.

Instead of forcing prosecutors to prove "guilt beyond a reasonable doubt," it will allow for a prosecutor or investigator to disarm someone without needing to meet the minimum threshold - probable cause - to even charge someone with a crime.

It's simply ludicrous. This is the type of tyranny we would expect to see in some third-world dictatorship, not in the United States of America.

Every American is innocent until proven guilty and the burden of proving guilt falls on the prosecutor. This legislation would reverse that and presume someone guilty until they prove they are innocent.

This legislation is not only an affront to the Second Amendment but also a complete violation of the Fifth Amendment as well.
