Sergeant 1st Class Charles Martland is a hero. He is a Green Beret and a two-time recipient of the Bronze Star.

If you looked up the definition of an ideal soldier, his picture would come up.

While stationed in Afghanistan, a local woman came to him bruised and beaten, asking if he would stop the local police chief from kidnapping and raping her 12-year-old son.

The police commander took the small boy, chained him to a bed, and proceeded to rape him for over a week. When the mother complained, the officer savagely beat her.

Sgt. Martland did what any soldier would do. He followed up on the tip.

You can imagine his rage. The United States not only trains these police officers, but they are also on the US payroll.

When Martland confronted the police officer, he confessed to everything. Well, confessed is probably the wrong word. He bragged about what he did and dared Martland to do something about it.

The soldier lost his cool and shoved the police officer, who happened to fall over.

Now, Sgt. Martland is facing an involuntary discharge from the Army. The Pentagon's reasoning? He failed to respect and tolerate Afghan culture and customs. Yes, apparently kidnapping a child, chaining him to a bed, and raping him for a week is a custom that needs to be respected.

This is madness. The Obama administration is taking the side of a brutal child rapist over a two-time Bronze Star recipient.

You must intervene. Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) is leading the charge to stop this injustice from taking place. I implore you to team up with him and stop the Pentagon from ruining this American hero's military career!
