With one executive order regulation, Obama is attempting to violate my First and Second Amendment rights.

The State Department has the power, under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, to control defense-articles that are imported and exported. Traditionally, this has been to stop tangible weapons from being sent to our enemies. But in the 1990s, the State Dept. applied these regulations to security software for computers. A string or numbers, letters, and symbols (computer code) was classified as "munitions," just like bombs.

On June 3rd of this year, the State Department announced a new proposed regulation to "address the electronic transmission and storage of unclassified ‘technical data’ via foreign communications infrastructure.” In layman’s terms: the Obama administration wants to stop individuals from sharing technical firearm data with the world.

This has the effect of violating Americans' First and Second Amendment rights simultaneously.

It has never been easier to get into the shooting sports. If someone is new to firearms, there is plenty of information available on the internet to teach them everything they need to know.

Never shot a gun before? Don’t worry, there are tons of resources online to teach you how. Scared about disassembling and cleaning your gun for the first time? There are YouTube videos there to show you the way.

But if Obama's new regulation goes into effect, writing a blog post about how a gun works would be no different than sending munitions to al-Qaeda: 20-years in prison and a $1 million fine.

Americans have every right to keep and bear arms. They also have the right to free speech and to engage in the free sharing of ideas on the internet. What Obama is proposing is blatantly unconstitutional. Way too often, we are asked to sacrifice liberty for security. This goes way too far.

You simply cannot allow this regulation to go through. Whatever it takes, you must stop it from being enacted. Otherwise, the First and Second Amendments will be lost and you will be to blame!
