In 1973, the Supreme Court ruled that the point of viability during pregnancy was 28 weeks. However, the law has not caught up to modern science. At 20 weeks, it is proven that unborn feel pain in-utero. At 21 weeks, it has been proven that they can survive outside the womb and grow to adulthood.

The Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act would bridge that gap. Any unborn child that reaches the point of viability would be given the opportunity to survive. This will save thousands and thousands of babies every year.

It's absolutely shameful that the Senate hasn't acted on this legislation. You have a chance to save tens of thousands of unborn children. You must raise your voice and demand that Congress pass the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and defend the unborn!

The Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act has shamefully stalled in the Senate.

The Supreme Court ruled in 1973 that the point of viability was around 28 weeks. However, the law has not caught up to modern, 21st Century science. At 20 weeks, the unborn feel pain in-utero. At 21 weeks, it has been proven that they can survive outside the womb.

The Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act would bridge that gap. It would recognize the humanity of the unborn and ensure that these children are not killed.

Look at it this way. If a doctor has to perform surgery on a fetus in-utero at 20 weeks, the doctor must administer anesthesia. Otherwise, the surgery would be unethical because the child would feel pain.

If doctors aren’t allowed to perform surgery on the unborn without anesthesia, how can anyone possibly say it is ethical or legal to abort and dismember the child at the same stage of development?

This legislation would save tens of thousands of lives every year. Those babies will be born, grow up, and have children of their own. The amount of lives you can save is exponential.

You have an opportunity to put a stop to late-term abortions once and for all.

Watching you and your colleagues withdraw the bill earlier this year was absolutely shameful. That’s the only word that comes to mind to describe legislators too afraid to protect the rights of the unborn.

But now, you have a chance to make it right. You must do everything in your power to get the Senate to pass the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Otherwise, I blame you for every viable child who is aborted.
