In the House of Representatives, there is something known as the Hastert Rule. Though an unwritten rule, it dictates that Majority Leadership should never hold a vote on legislation that the majority of Majority disagrees with. With Republicans in power, the rule dictates that most Republicans must be on board before a vote can be held.

There is no such rule in the Senate, but that is certainly how Harry Reid has ruled over the past years.

But the logic is still the same. Republicans have a 54-vote majority in the Senate. It only takes 5 Republicans to side with the Democrats in order to get legislation/resolutions past the 60-vote filibuster threshold.

Right now, even though the vast majority of the Party is against her, the GOP leadership plans to hold a confirmation vote on Loretta Lynch. Right now, 5 Republican Senators are on record saying they will vote for her.

If those numbers stand, that means that 91% of the ruling party will vote against her and she will still be confirmed.

It's simple: Loretta Lynch supports amnesty for illegal aliens, gun control and bans on commonly owned semi-automatic firearms, leniency for big banks caught committing crimes, civil asset forfeiture (seizing citizens' assets without charging them with a crime)... The list literally goes on and on.

I demand that you vote against this radical nominee. The remainder of Obama's presidency is too important to allow a radical to become the chief law enforcement agent in the country.

If you allow a vote to take place, it is over. I don't care whether you are in party leadership or just a Freshman. If you don't do everything in your power to stop this surrender, then you have lost my vote. Not only that, but I will work harder than ever to help your next primary challenger unseat you.

Loretta Lynch cannot be confirmed. Period.
