Oh wow... Yesterday, Trump published a pretty common sense question on social media. He asked that if it is too dangerous for Americans to vote in person in November, why don't we just postpone the election until it becomes safer?
It was a masterful comment because it led the Fake News media to run headline after headline claiming that Donald Trump wants to change the election date. As the President later clarified, those headlines were not true. He was simply trying to force the Left to admit what is plain to see for everyone: it is not "too dangerous" to vote in November.
Yesterday, hundreds of Democrats packed themselves into an Atlanta, Georgia church like sardines, in clear violation of Georgia's 50-person limit for private and public gatherings. Democrats didn't believe it was too dangerous to line up to attend John Lewis' funeral, but they claim it is too dangerous for people to line up to vote. It is BS.
That is nonsense that Trump is trying to call attention to. He put that statement out to force Democrats to admit it is safe enough to have an in-person election.
But the GOP flipped out over Trump's statement. Republican Caucus Chairwoman Liz Cheney (R-WY) (above, left)-- who has been trying to undermine Trump behind the scenes -- released a statement condemning the President for talking about postponing the election. Other typical anti-Trump GOPers like Mitt Romney (R-UT) (above, right) also joined in to criticize the President and praising the plan to hold the election by mail this year instead...
Why is this all being talked about right now? Because the unemployment benefits from the CARES Act expire today. Unless Congress agrees to extend that funding, millions of Americans will lose their 600-per-week federal unemployment benefits.
President Trump offered a compromise. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer said they would not approve any legislation unless all states agree to hold the 2020 election by mail...
Trump put out that tweet because the GOP cowards are turning on him. They are pleading with the President to surrender to Pelosi's demands in the name of public health. It is a sham. If the GOP caves to Pelosi on this, the Democrats will steal the 2020 election!
I have covered this in depth. Pelosi isn't just demanding nationwide vote-by-mail. She is also demanding more days of early voting and more polling places in inner cities (designed to increase Democrat turnout). Her bill would make it illegal for states to verify voters' identities if they vote by mail, creating a loophole to get around every voter ID law on the books. And as if it couldn't get worse, Pelosi's "cheat-by-mail" bill would legalize "Ballot Harvesting" nationwide. States would not be allowed to restrict who is allowed to turn-in a mail-in ballot on the voter's behalf, allowing paid political operatives to go door-to-door to collect Democrat ballots.
This is what is at stake. This is what Democrats, and now cowardly Republicans, are demanding that Trump agree to sign into law.
If this passes, it is my opinion that the election will be stolen. If Congress makes it illegal for states to verify voters' identities, more fraudulent votes will be cast. If Congress votes to allow ballot harvesting, more fraudulent votes will be cast.
1.5% of the vote-by-mail ballots that were cast in California earlier this year were tossed out because they were filled out wrong. That might not be enough to swing a California election, but that would have been more than enough to swing an election in Michigan, Wisconsin, or Pennsylvania. And that is the goal.
Democrats know that if they get these changes passed into law, they win the 2020 election. That is why they are holding the next round of coronavirus relief hostage.
The GOP is caving. Trump is pushing back with everything he's got, but the Republican cowards like Cheney and Romney are joining the Left and demanding that the President give up his effort to protect the 2020 election.
You CANNOT allow them to get away with this!
This is it. Congress is working to try to pass a "compromise" bill TODAY.
The GOP cowards are so terrified of being blamed for the unemployment benefits being cut off that they are actually offering to cave to Pelosi's demands. And they are pressuring Trump to surrender too!
If the spineless Republicans get their way, Nancy Pelosi's "cheat-by-mail" amendments will be added to the final bill.
That is why we are pushing this issue so hard. This is truly a life or death moment for our Republic.
