President Trump made history this month when he ordered the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice to work together to put down the violence plaguing cities like Portland.
As I have mentioned before, Operation LeGend is named after 4-year-old LeGend Taliferro, a boy who was shot and killed while he was asleep in his bed when a stray bullet flew through the wall of his room and hit him. Trump named the operation after him to promise families across the country that the violent mobs destroying America's cities will not be allowed to go unchecked.
Operation LeGend is simple, but brilliant. Federal officers from DHS and DOJ surge into a city and arrest as many criminals as they can on federal charges. Local police tend to know who the killers in their communities are. They simply lack the evidence, resolve, or the permission from local politicians to do anything about it. Operation LeGend's goal is to find something that the Feds can use to charge criminals and get them off the street, even if the crime is just illegal drug or firearm possession.
Kansas City was Operation LeGend's trial run (because that is where LeGend Taliferro lived). In less than three weeks, Federal agents were able to arrest and charge more than 200 violent criminals. It was a massive success. So successful that the city's Democrat Mayor -- Quinton Lucas -- apologized for allowing the feds to come in. That's right, he apologized for helping the federal officers take over 200 criminals off the streets...
With Trump's announcement last week, Operation LeGend is now operational in four cities -- Kansas City, Portland, Albuquerque, and Chicago -- with plans to expand into even more.
But Democrats have a plan to stop Operation LeGend in its tracks by pulling all of its funding!

The founders gave Congress a power known as the "Power of the Purse. Since Congress gets to pass the Federal Government's appropriations bills, the House and Senate have the power to decide how the funding gets spent. If Congress does not like a particular policy or program, they can use this Power of the Purse to cut off its funding.
Leftists have spent years trying to do this with the border wall and many of Trump's other policies. But now, the Left is advancing a spending package that would pull the plug on Operation LeGend for good!
Just think about that for a second: Federal agents have taken hundreds of violent criminals off the streets of America's cities in less than a month, and the Democrats' first instinct is to try to stop it...
In this case, Democrats are actually trying to protect the violent criminals in order to stop Trump from getting a "victory." Democrats don't want to actually fix any of the problems plaguing America's inner cities because they don't want Trump to be able to take credit for it. They are actually content with watching their constituents -- like 4-year-old LeGend -- die... It is shameful.
Nancy Pelosi is bringing a spending package to the floor this week that would set the funding levels for the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice. Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) are promising to attach amendments to the bill that would shut down Operation LeGend. On the Senate side, Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Ron Wyden (D-OR) are introducing amendments to strip all funding from Operation LeGend.
And they know that the GOP is too spineless to stop them!

Pelosi is promising to bring the spending bills to the floor for a final vote THIS WEEK. Democrats are threatening a government shutdown unless the GOP caves to their demands.
The good news is that means there is still time to stop the Far Left from stripping Operation LeGend's funding!
