Last night, while all eyes were on the riots and looting taking place around the country, the Supreme Court did something absolutely despicable. Around midnight last night, the Supreme Court issued a surprise 5-4 ruling saying that the State of California can continue to shutdown churches and other places of worship.
Chief Justice John Roberts abandoned the conservatives and joined the liberal wing and ruled that the restrictions placed on churches in states like California and Illinois are constitutional...
Roberts wrote the opinion, explaining that it is acceptable for states to suspend Americans' religious freedom rights in order to "address this extraordinary health emergency." The Highest Court in the Land just ruled that a virus with a 99.7+ percent survival rate is enough to allow states and localities to suspend the Constitution...
Under the new Roberts opinion, states are now allowed to restrict church services to just ten people in the building, no matter how big the building is, and even ban people from singing or playing certain musical instruments in church...
This is a disgusting ruling.
Luckily, previous generations included a failsafe into the Constitution to prevent such injustices from taking hold. Congress has the power to overrule this ruling and restore the religious freedom rights of all Americans, but it is up to YOU to demand it!
The 14th Amendment was written to make sure that cities and states would never be allowed to violate the liberties of Americans living within their borders. No state or city is allowed to deprive any American citizen of life, liberty, or property.
The amendment concludes that it is Congress has the "power to enforce" this amendment.
Congress has the power to overrule states like California and restore religious freedom rights around the country.
There is no asterisk in the Bill of Rights. There is no exception that says your rights go away whenever there is a respiratory virus. And yet, that is what the Supreme Court's latest order says.
This cannot be allowed to go into effect. We have a window of opportunity to overrule this disgusting order, but you need to act fast and DEMAND that Congress intervene!
