Yesterday, I warned that Democrats were just one GOP vote away from having enough votes to control the impeachment trial.
Previously, we knew that Mitt Romney, Lisa Murkowski, and Susan Collins were going to vote to hold a full trial and give Democrats control over witnesses. For the past week, Democrats have been pressuring Cory Gardner, Thom Tillis, and Martha McSally pressuring them to turn on the President as well.
But today, we received a shock. Ohio Senator Rob Portman has now become the 4th GOPer to flip and join the Democrats. The Left now has all of the power.
Immediately after Portman made the announcement, Nancy Pelosi gave the all clear to send the impeachment articles over to the Senate. Now that she knows Democrats will have the power in the Senate trial, she is more than willing to hand over the articles.
All because the GOP is too cowardly to simply hold the line...
Here is where it gets truly dangerous. With four Republicans voting with the Dems, they have the power to set whatever trial rules they want. That includes holding a trial vote by secret ballot.
This is what Democrats have wanted from the beginning. They want to hold a secret vote to remove Trump from office so that no one knows how each Senator votes.
The idea is that if the impeachment vote were held in secret, more Republicans would be able to vote against the President without having to worry about the political consequences of their vote.
Over the years, the GOP has used this tactic to avoid going on the record for controversial votes. Last year, establishment Republicans held secret votes to open up the borders and make it easier for illegal aliens to commit asylum fraud. We led the charge against these establishment GOPers and with your help, we outed the "mastermind," Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-KS), and he was removed from office last November.
And now that there are four GOPers on board with the Left's plan, Establishment Republicans are once again advocating removing the President by secret ballot!
Make no mistake, this is a Republican plan. Republicans are the ones proposing holding secret impeachment votes. Republicans are the ones turning on the President.
They want to be able to remove the President from office without having to face the consequences of their actions...
These GOP traitors are literally saying that they know better than the 63 million Americans who elected Donald Trump. And now, they have a plan to do just that!
Pelosi is over-the-moon excited. Democrats are now opening up new investigations to send even more impeachment articles to the Senate.
You must -- absolutely MUST -- rise up and shut down this coup!
Our goal today is to deliver one million FaxBlasts to Congress threatening Republicans and Democrats alike that if they dare vote for this attempted coup, they will be the ones ultimately dragged out of office!
