Democrats now claim that they have sufficient GOP support to revoke funding for the border wall in this year's upcoming spending package!

For the past three years, Republicans and Democrats have been working together to stop President Trump from building the border wall.

Democrats want open borders because they want to import more future Democrat voters. Republicans want open borders because their GOP donors demand more cheap labor.

Paul Ryan blocked the border wall funding from passing, as did Mitch McConnell. When Nancy Pelosi took over, she stripped all new border wall funding from the 2019 spending bill. The only funding that Congress authorized was to renovate existing barriers.

President Trump decided to go it alone. He used his legal and constitutional powers to declare a national emergency at the border and reprogrammed billions to fund new border wall construction.

The results were astonishing. Since mid-September, construction crews have been putting up one mile of new border wall every single day. Just yesterday, the Army Corps of Engineers and Department of Homeland Security finalized a contract for a construction firm to build an additional 65 miles of border wall over the next year. All together, President Trump's national emergency order will reprogram enough funding to put up 505 miles of border wall by the end of next September.

Both parties are furious. Last Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted to cancel Trump's emergency order. On Friday, the Senate passed the resolution as well. Senators Alexander, Blunt, Collins, Lee, Moran, Murkowski, Paul, Portman, Romney, Toomey, and Wicker and Representatives Amash, Fitzpatrick, Herrera-Beutler, Katko, Johnson (SD), Massie, Rodgers (WA), Rooney (FL), Sensenbrenner,, Stefanik, Upton, and Walden all turned on the President and voted with Democrats to shut down the border wall construction.

The White House has now announced that President Trump will veto their resolution, and Congress does not have enough votes to override the veto.

But the Establishment isn't finished. These were test votes to see whether there was ample support to cancel the border wall project. Now, Republicans and Democrats are moving forward with their next vote to strip the border wall's funding!

Congress must pass 12 government spending bills before mid-November, otherwise the Federal government will shut down. Two of those bills are dedicated to funding the Departments of Homeland Security and Defense.

Congress ultimately has the power of the purse. They get to decide what the Federal government can, and cannot, spend taxpayer funding on.

We can now confirm that the National Defense Authorization Act and the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act both contain amendments designed to clawback the funding that Trump is using to build the wall.

In the Homeland Security bill, the amendment is found in section 227. It reads that "no Federal funds may be used for the construction of physical barriers along the southern land border of the United States during fiscal year 2020."

And in the NDAA, the poison pill amendment is found in Section 2801, declaring that “Military construction funds may not be obligated, expended, or otherwise used to design or carry out a project to construct, replace, or modify a wall, fence, or other physical barrier along the international border between the United States and Mexico.”

Both of these provisions are designed to make it illegal for the Federal government to continue border wall construction. If either of them pass, then the President's border wall national emergency declaration is over. Border wall construction crews would have to immediately stop work and leave the border wall unfinished and as-is.

We have literally waited decades for a President like Donald Trump who is willing to do whatever is necessary to secure the US-Mexico border. The photograph above shows a current border wall construction project going on right now in Yuma, Arizona. The tall border wall section is what Donald Trump is putting up. The 5-foot-tall fence on the left that is being torn down and replaced? That is what George W. Bush and Barack Obama considered "border security." My 2-year-old toddler could squeeze through that "barrier."

This shouldn't be political. Securing the border and protecting the American people shouldn't be controversial. But Democrats and Republicans are now rallying to shut the border wall project down!

In last week's test votes, there were 11 Republicans in the House and 11 in the Senate who voted to cancel the national emergency order and suspend all border wall construction. Trump will veto the stand-alone resolution.

But now that these anti-wall amendments have been added to these two spending bills, the stakes are now much higher. If these two bills don't pass, then the Pentagon and Department of Homeland Security will shut down. America's military families and Homeland Security employees would stop receiving paychecks. Without a doubt, our national security would suffer. That is the last thing that anyone wants.

Yet, Democrats are threatening to shut down these Departments unless the GOP votes to pull the funding from the border wall construction projects. The Left is literally holding our defense and homeland security hostage to try to defeat the border wall project. It is disgusting.

The only thing more shameful is that Republicans are agreeing to go along with the Left's plan!

If either of these provisions make it into the final spending package, it is all over. 505 miles of planned border wall construction would be completely cancelled.

This is a fight for the future of our country. You CANNOT sit this one out!

No surrender,
