For the next month, Members of Congress will be spending most of their time at home, working in their districts. The “District Work Period” is supposed to be used to let Congressmen and Senators meet with their constituents and learn about what their districts want and need them to do.
Members of Congress would then be able to return to DC at the end of August to introduce legislation to help their constituents.
Oregon Senator Ron Wyden (D), however, has a different plan. Instead of returning home to meet with his constituents, Wyden went to Mexico, found migrant woman who was 8.5 months pregnant, and then used his position as a Senator to force Border Patrol to allow him to smuggle her into the country.
It shouldn’t have to take being escorted by a U.S. Senator to get asylum seekers and migrants to safety in the United States. After my time in Juarez, I’m reflecting on the hundreds — perhaps thousands — of women just like her who are unable to get the medical care they need. pic.twitter.com/X0mk1iJr6q

Not only did this happen, but Senator Wyden is bragging about it.
Any health complications that this woman had could certainly have been taken care of in a hospital in Mexico. Or, better yet, in her home country. But this Senator forced Border Patrol agents to let her into the United States to be treated.
This is the new normal. If anyone else did this, it would be human trafficking. But because he’s a Senator, apparently it is ok.
Title 8, Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(ii) of the US Code makes it an offense for any person who “knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, transports, or moves or attempts to transport or move such alien within the United States by means of transportation or otherwise, in furtherance of such violation of law.”
Here, we have a US Senator driving an illegal alien around, and he is so confident that he will get away with it, he is bragging about it on social media.
Also, since she is 8.5 months pregnant, if this illegal alien gives birth on US soil, the current interpretation of US law means that her child would automatically become a US citizen. This is what critics refer to as “anchor babies.” Had she given birth in Mexico, her child would have her citizenship. But if she gives birth in the US, then her child will be an American. Her child would then prevent the government from deporting her. The crimes that this Senator just committed are literally piling up.
He should be charged. Trump should make an example of him and put an end to this for good.
President Trump signed an agreement with Mexico to have migrants wait there while their asylum claims are adjudicated. Not only is Congress refusing to help Trump end the crisis, but Democrats are now going to Mexico to undermine this new policy.
