We have known this for years. The Obama administration allowed thousands of unvetted refugees into the United States without even bothering to verify their identities or intentions.
We warned that it was guaranteed that some of these illegals would be terrorists. Unfortunately, we were right.
The FBI arrested 21-year-old Syrian refugee Mustafa Mousab Alowemer for planning to attack a Christian church in Pittsburgh using a "an explosive, destructive device or weapon of mass destruction." You see, Alowemer wanted to wage a holy war against Christians on behalf of the Islamic State. He had already acquired the bomb-making materials when the FBI caught him.
The Obama administration let him into the US, no questions asked, and he spent the last three years planning this attack. Thank God the FBI was able to find and stop him in time.
One of President Trump's first actions after taking office was to shut down Obama's unvetted refugee program and institute "extreme vetting." Democrats and Republicans tried to stop Trump's "Travel Ban," but the Supreme Court ultimately upheld the President's power to control who comes into the United States.
But now, new reporting indicates that threat is still there. Instead of trying to send terrorists into the United States through the United Nations Refugee Program, what is left of ISIS is now taking advantage of… the southern border!
Earlier this year, an ISIS recruit grew a conscience and confessed that he was ordered to infiltrate the US-Mexico border. Abu Henricki was an ISIS fighter with dual citizenship from Canada and Trinidad. The plan was to fly English-speaking ISIS fighters to Caribbean Islands, where they had dual passports, shuttle them to Mexico by boat, and then have them join the caravans rushing the border. While this fighter never went through with the plot, he is confident that ISIS ended up sending other terrorists through…
This is what ISIS does. They embed their fighters into refugee groups and then take advantage of asylum laws to smuggle them into the West. This is how the 2015 Bataclan theater terrorists got into France and killed 131 people. The 2016 Berlin truck terrorist who killed 12 people at a Christmas market also used the asylum system to get into Germany. The list goes on and on.
It is no surprise that ISIS is now trying to use our border crisis to do the same thing.
So why is everyone in Congress willing to keep our southern border wide open?
Yesterday, Republican leaders announced a "compromise" with Democrats on a 4.5 billion border spending package. But as always seems to be the case, this "compromise" is just another betrayal. Of that, 3.3 billion will go towards Department of Health and Human Services refugee resettlement programs. Instead of stopping the border crisis, the GOP is simply approving more funding to take care of the illegal aliens who invaded this country.
And, predictably, the bill doesn't cover the border wall.
Mitch McConnell explained that he 'wants to build the wall,' he really does, but that this isn't the time to have that fight…
"We want to build a wall. We think the president's made a good case for that," McConnell told reporters yesterday. "That's not what this [bill] is about. This is just the humanitarian part of the problem on our side, obviously, of the border."
We have been hearing these same tired excuses for three years. The GOP allegedly wants to fight for the border wall and for increased border security, but says it just isn't the right time to have that fight. We have heard this excuse from John Boehner, Paul Ryan, and now Mitch McConnell.
But the "right time" never does seem to come.
Enough is enough!
We know that terrorists are taking advantage of our border crisis. Homeland Security also just announced that there were more than 1,500 convicted illegal alien criminals embedded in two of last year's migrant caravans. They included illegal aliens who were convicted of rape, murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and a host of other violent crimes.
This has to stop.
But if this deal passes, it won't stop. Border wall construction will remain defunded, Border Patrol will still be blocked from hiring new agents, and ICE will still be forced to release the majority of illegal aliens they capture.
You cannot let the GOP pass this horrible border "compromise" with Democrats! You need to rise up right now and demand real border security funding!
