Betrayal: The GOP is officially negotiating with Democrats over how many illegal aliens deserve amnesty and citizenship...
Over the weekend, President Trump got Democrats to admit that the illegal aliens crossing the border are dangerous. The White House leaked that they would be resettling illegal aliens in sanctuary cities and the Left howled.
We've covered this already, but Democrats slipped a clause into this year's spending bill limiting how many beds ICE and Border Patrol can have in their detention facilities. Once all the beds are full, then they have to start releasing illegal aliens into American society. So, Trump wants to relocate these released illegal aliens to sanctuary cities like San Francisco.
Nancy Pelosi immediately put out a statement declaring it would be dangerous for Trump to relocate illegal aliens to her city. It's just amazing. The President got the Speaker of the House to admit that mass illegal immigration is dangerous...
And yet, that is exactly what the Left is demanding. Democrats are moving forward with the American Dream and Promise Act as-written and demanding that Republicans agree to amnesty before even discussing border security and immigration reforms. They created this crisis and now they are trying to use it as leverage to get amnesty for millions of illegal aliens...
Right now, the GOP is negotiating with the Democrats over these terms. They are completely caving on immigration!
The Left has played this game for decades. Going all the way back to Ronald Reagan, Democrats promised to trade border security and immigration fixes in exchange for mass amnesty. But once the amnesty was signed into law, the Left immediately blocked the border security parts of the compromise.
They did that to Ronald Reagan, George W Bush, and now they're trying to do it to Donald Trump.
Pelosi is demanding a "clean" Dream Act. What that means is that there will be no strings attached. Not only would the amnesty be permanent, but nothing could stop them from becoming citizens.
Already, we are seeing the GOP negotiators cave. Instead of fighting to secure the border and close the loopholes that illegal aliens are abusing, they are now negotiating over how many millions of illegal aliens will get amnesty and citizenship. The GOP simply doesn't know how to win...
We have the bill that would fix this crisis. It is called the Fix Immigration Loopholes Act. Just introduced by Reps. Doug Collins (R-GA) and Mike Johnson (R-LA), this bill would totally close the loopholes that have created the crisis at the border.
The bill would do three major things.
(1) Revoke the Flores Settlement and stop illegal aliens from using children as get-out-of-jail-free cards. Current law states that illegal alien children must remain with their apprehended parents. However, a 1997 Court ruling (stemming from Flores v Reno) stipulates that children cannot be detained for longer than 20 days. So, after those 20 days, the children and parents must be released. Illegal aliens have figured this out and are using children, some of whom have been kidnapped, to game the system and get into the US. The Fix Immigration Loopholes Act revokes the Flores Settlement and would put an end to this blatant abuse.
(2) Unaccompanied children would be guaranteed an immigration and asylum court hearing within 14 days of their apprehension and if they do not have a valid asylum claim, would be immediately deported instead of being released into the country. Children are flooding the border right now because our laws do not allow Border Patrol and ICE to turn them around. This bill would change that.
(3) Lastly, the Fix Immigration Loopholes Act would close the asylum loopholes that illegal aliens are using to fraudulently enter the country. Liberal organizations are literally handing out scripts on the Mexican side of the border and coaching illegal aliens on what to say when they first come into contact with Border Patrol. They are filing false asylum claims because they know it will get them released into the US. This bill would crack down on this fraud by expediting asylum hearings, punishing fraud, and letting Border Patrol and ICE immediately weed out fraudulent claims.
This bill is common sense. But that's not what the GOP is interested in. Instead of fixing this crisis, Republican negotiators are working with Democrats right now on an amnesty bill. These people are so pathetic...
They think they can get away with this because they think you're not paying attention. But you are...
President Trump is doing everything he can to secure the border. He has used foreign aid and trade threats to force Mexico to start deporting migrants bound for the US. The President used his executive authority to re-program funding to build the border wall. That construction is officially underway. And Trump is using his authority -- such as deciding where to relocate illegal aliens -- to pressure Democrats into making a deal.
But the GOP wants none of this. Instead of joining the President, the Republican leadership is already caving. Instead of forcing a vote on the Fix Immigration Loopholes Act, which would actually fix this crisis, they are teaming up with Democrats on the biggest amnesty bill ever.
They think they can get away with this.
It is up to YOU to prove them wrong! President Trump needs you to put maximum pressure on Congress and force them to put the safety and security of the American people ahead of their amnesty dreams. We are already seeing moderate Democrats starting to turn on Nancy Pelosi and her radical immigration agenda.
But for every Democrat we flip, there seems to be another GOP turncoat flipping to help Pelosi...
