With Democrats taking control of the House in less than two months, Paul Ryan is now trying to block the border wall one last time… forever.
There was no blue wave yesterday. Democrats took the House of Representatives, like practically every other opposition party has done during a President's first midterm election, but there wasn't really anything all that shocking.
President Trump hit the ground to protect the Senate and he was successful. Both Rick Scott and Ron Desantis staged major come-from-behind wins to take the win the Florida Senate seat and Governorship for Republicans.
But one thing that was shocking is just how many Never-Trump Congressmen and Establishment Rinos were kicked out of Congress. And these spineless Republicans now get to decide whether the border wall ever gets funded.
They just need to block the border wall funding one more time.
Don't let them get away with this!
Kevin Yoder was a staple of Kansas' 3rd Congressional District and was largely seen as a shoe-in last year. However, this past June, Rep. Yoder teamed up with Democrats to sneak through a massive immigration surrender amendment: granting asylum to all victims of domestic and gang violence. All a migrant would have to do is claim their spouse hit them, and they'd be allowed right in. It that would have opened up the border to all of the caravans and illegal aliens who wanted to come into the US. He tried to sneak it through behind closed doors and even staged a voice vote in committee to stop the American people from seeing how their Reps were voting.
Carlos Curbelo is a never-Trump Congressman who represents Miami. In addition to opposing the President's border security plan, Curbelo had also come out as a major supporter of the left's gun control plans. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen is another never-Trumper in Florida. She decided to retire this past year and threw her support behind Dianne Feinstein's massive gun ban bill. Her seat, understandably, flipped to blue last night.
Colorado Congressman Mike Coffman literally told President Trump to drop out of the 2016 election just days before the vote. He has been one of the most anti-Trump Congressmen in the country. He lost his seat last night as well.
Rep. Will Hurd (TX) is the one behind a measure to take the border wall funding and give it to Central American countries as foreign aid instead. He just lost in a stunning upset.
And amazingly, the Democrat candidates that actually flipped GOP seats were remarkably moderate. In some cases, they were actually more conservative on certain issues than the Rinos they will replace. And all four of the Democrats in competitive races that Barack Obama campaigned for… lost.
There was no Blue Wave yesterday. They will take control of the House, as expected, but not by any kind of record margins.
The real question is whether these retiring and defeated anti-Trump Congressmen will keep pretending to be conservatives during the 57 days we have left…
We are in now-or-never territory for things like the border wall. Nancy Pelosi has already promised to block any funding from going towards border wall construction. She isn't willing to trade anything for the border wall.
With Republicans holding both chambers of Congress for the next 57 days, that is how long we have to kill Ryan's border surrender plan and force a vote on the wall.
After yesterday's results, there are a couple dozen Republicans who don't need to pretend to be conservatives anymore, Paul Ryan included. They had been shamed into holding the line. Now, they're free to do whatever we want.
Things have never been this dangerous. We can fight back against a Democrat-controlled Congress. We have done that for years. But for the first time in years, we have major GOP leaders who can suddenly just stop pretending to be conservative.
Now, more than ever, you need to FIGHT. Over the next two months, we are going to be focusing on all of the conservative "promises" that Paul Ryan tried to run out the clock on. We are going to be focusing on pushing through real conservative legislation before it's too late.
Today, we are starting with the border wall.
Before December 7, Congress must pass a new spending package to keep the government funded. That includes funding for the Department of Homeland security. If border wall funding is not included in this bill, the wall will not be built.
Paul Ryan spent the past two years kicking the can down the road and blocking border wall funding from reaching Trump's desk. Now, Ryan needs to block it just one more time.
It is up to YOU to stop him!
