GOP Leaders are surrendering on immigration and refusing to approve funding for the border wall.
Starting tomorrow, there are 11 legislative days left on the calendar before the end of the fiscal year. There are a dozen spending bills that Congress must pass to fund the government and keep it up and running. Since the Senate stayed in session through August, they have already passed 9 of those 12. The House pretty much has to start from the beginning and pass almost all of them.
The House is scheduling this week for Homeland Security related legislation. The biggest bill will be the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act. In addition to setting the funding for anti-terrorism programs, this bill will also decide how much funding both ICE and Border Patrol receive and what they are allowed to spend it on. Yes, that includes the border wall.
There is a coup taking place in Congress right now, on both sides of the aisle. Democrats are actually begging for a chance to vote on the wall. Vulnerable Senators like Joe Donnelly (D-IN) know that they won’t win re-election if they vote against the wall.
But Republicans are demanding the opposite. They are demanding that Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell block the wall from being funded. They think that is the only way they can hold onto power and beat the so-called Blue Wave coming in November.
These traitors are striking a deal with the devil. They’re promising to block the border wall to hopefully save their seats in Congress.
Last week, President Trump secured funding from Mexico for the border wall. Not directly, mind you. The Mexican government won’t be cutting us a check. But thanks to President Trump’s new trade deal with Mexico, tens, if not hundreds of billions, will stay in the US. The taxes on that alone could fund a dozen border walls.
From the very beginning, the Trump campaign said that renegotiating on trade would be one of the ways Mexico would be forced to pay for the wall. He kept his promise.
There are no more excuses left. The principle reason that Establishment Republicans had been blocking the wall had been over cost. That’s not an issue anymore. The funding has been secured.
Now, we are seeing the spineless Republicans-In-Name-Only (RINO) showing their true colors. This has never been about funding. They just want open borders.
Congressman Will Hurd is a Republican representing Texas. His district includes 1/3 of the US-Mexico border. The Establishment listens to I’m and believes that he is the future of the party: a moderate Republican who can appeal to Hispanic voters. Over the past three weeks, Hurd has been traveling through Central America and asking what the United States can do to stop illegal immigration.
In every country he visited, the answer was always the same: ‘Instead of spending billions on the border wall, give us the funding instead.’ Last year, we gave away 1.1 billion to Central American countries. The year before, it was 1.7 billion. Illegal immigration is as bad as ever.
But Rep. Will Hurd has a plan. Instead of appropriating the 5B for the border wall, he wants to give that funding away to countries like Honduras and El Salvador. We have an opportunity to secure the border once and for all, and he wants to throw it all away.
What is even worse is that the GOP leadership is listening to him!
The legislation is coming up for a vote. The question now is whether Congress will honor their oaths and secure the border, or give it all away to the countries responsible for our illegal alien crisis.
We have seen the human cost of an open border. There were 72k drug overdose deaths in the US last year. Most of those were from heroin and synthetic opioids being smuggled across the border. We have also seen innocent Americans like Mollie Tibbetts killed in cold blood by illegal aliens who had absolutely no right to be here.
Any Congressman or Senator who votes against the border wall must be removed from office!
President Trump is refusing to sign any spending bill that doesn’t include border wall funding. He is also demanding an end to chain migration and the immigration lottery.
Both Ryan and McConnell are defying the President right now and daring him to veto the bill. They would rather shut down the government than secure the border, something they have been promising to do for over a decade.
President Trump needs your help. He cannot do this alone!
Now or never,
