We have been running a lot of 2nd Amendment campaigns lately. But we have to. The surrender is happening.
We warned you that the GOP was going to cave on Second Amendment issues.
When Rep. Francis Rooney became the first Republican Congressman to declare a need for Americans to lose some of their gun rights, we warned that he wouldn't be the last to cave.
Now, Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) has become the next Republican to flip. Writing in an op-ed for the New York Times, Mast explained that he has changed his mind and now supports the Left's universal gun registry bill and a ban on so-called "assault weapons."
The Left is picking off "conservatives" like flies. Mast ran for Congress as a Conservative. He received a hefty donation from the National Rifle Association for his campaign, which rated him as 86% when it came to the 2nd Amendment. He literally ran on a campaign promise to "protect our 2nd Amendment from all attempts to erode it."
Now, he's flipped sides. Why? Because his donors told him to.
A week or so ago, I told you how a big donor named Al Hoffman was demanding that Republicans in Congress support a new gun ban. Otherwise, he would stop donating to their campaigns. No surprise, Hoffman was one of Mast's largest individual donors. He donated the maximum amount allowed by law.
The media is piling on… the Left is piling on… now the Republican establishment is piling on… and they're picking off GOP votes like flies.
At least Rep. Mast isn't stupid enough to support confiscation. But he is willing to take Democrats 99% of the way there.
You see, this Congressman also came out in support of the Left's universal background check bill. This legislation would require a government record of everytime a firearm changes hands. There are already records created when you buy guns from a licensed gun store. Now, they want to create a database for EVERY gun transfer or purchase.
Democrats can never confiscate guns without knowing which doors to knock on…
Throughout history, gun registrations have always preceded confiscations. Most recent confiscation programs were in the UK and Australia, however a look through history shows us the same strategy was used to disarm Jews in Nazi Germany as well as political opponents in the USSR.
When Dianne Feinstein got her assault weapon ban in 1994, she said during a television interview that she wanted to confiscate Americans' guns, but didn't have enough votes. She literally admitted that her dream was to have "Mr. and Mrs. America turn them all in." In the quarter century since then, Democrats have become even more anti-gun. The California Democrat Party just refused to endorse Feinstein's re-election campaign. Why? Because they say she isn't anti-gun enough. The Senator who tried to confiscate Americans' guns is now considered soft on guns…
The 2016 election was do-or-die for the 2nd Amendment. Had Hillary Clinton won and Democrats controlled the House and Senate, these gun control proposals would have already been signed into law.
But now we're seeing Republicans cave on the 2nd Amendment. Republicans are the ones teaming up with Democrats to enact gun bans and universal registries.
They think they can get away with stabbing you in the back…
Democrats are preparing to use what is called a "discharge petition" to force a vote on their gun ban bill.
Typically, only the Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader can decide whether a bill gets a floor vote. But the Founders included a provision to bypass leadership if there is sufficient support to pass a bill.
Basically, if a bill has enough votes to pass a final vote, then its supporters can force it to the floor.
There are currently four vacancies in Congress. That means instead of needing 218 votes to pass a bill, it can be done with just 216 votes. Less if other Members of Congress don't show up to the vote.
With Democrats holding 193 votes, that means they need to flip 23 Republicans in order to force a vote.
Don't think it is possible? They've already flipped at least six that we know of.
Representatives Chris Smith (R-NJ), Peter King (R-NY), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Fred Upton (R-MI), Francis Rooney (R-FL), and Brian Mast (R-FL) have already come out in support of a new assault weapon ban. We have also heard rumblings that there are at least seven more Republicans who are getting ready to flip. All of a sudden, the Left's magic number is just 10…
More than a dozen other Republican Congressmen have come out in support of legislation to ban assault weapons for anyone under the age of 21. That is the "compromise" they're proposing. The 2nd Amendment says that gun ownership is a "right of the people," yet cowardly Republicans are all of a sudden willing to disarm millions of American adults.
Think the Senate will save you? Marco Rubio ran for President and literally promised to stop all gun bans. The other night, he caved to pressure and announced that he was supporting a ban on high-capacity magazines, which is a part of Feinstein's assault weapon ban…
It is high time that Congress be reminded who they work for.
Not the media… not the establishment donors… not the gun control lobby… and certainly not underage teenagers.
They work for YOU, the American voter. And as a voter, you have an obligation to stand up and stop these surrenders before it's too late!
