This week, both President Donald Trump and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley warned countries that there would be a reckoning if they voted in the United Nations against the United States for recognizing Israel’s capital.
Haley promised that we would “take names” and Trump warned that any country who voted to try to smack us down would lose their American aid.
Well, yesterday’s vote ended up being 128-9, with 56 other countries refusing to vote against or for the resolution.
That vote seems to have been a catalyst for Republicans in Congress to finally wake up. Yesterday, even Sen. Marco Rubio admitted that it is time to start talking about doing just that.
“Given its tendency to be a forum for anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism, reevaluation of US role as single largest donor to the UN is long overdue,” Rubio released in a statement.
Even liberal Democrat Chuck Schumer is on record saying that the UN has gone too far in its anti-Israel and anti-America agendas.
Ted Cruz also jumped in on this, praising Trump’s threat as a “strong stand” and a show real leadership.
This is important, because if we’re going to pull the UN’s funding, it is going to be with Ted Cruz’s legislation.
His bill is quite simple: As long as the UN tries to go after Israel, the United States will no longer give them any contributions. Considering that the UN also holds an anti-Israel vote every couple weeks, this will probably end up being a permanent ban.
There is also a provision which would prohibit the US from contributing to any organization that recognizes Palestine as a state. News broke yesterday that Palestine is seeking full UN membership, which would also trigger another defunding clause.
Believe it or not, President Trump’s threat kind of worked. Compared to the anti-Israel vote held in early December, there were 23 fewer countries who voted for the resolution this time around. They couldn’t risk losing their US funding.
Now, it’s time to cut off the rest of these countries and the UN itself!
President Trump is on board. Now, he is bringing his one-time adversaries like Marco Rubio on board. Even liberals like Chuck Schumer will have a really hard time voting against this one.
But it is up to us to force a vote!
Nikki Haley said she would be taking names, but we did it for her. These are the countries that voted against the United States yesterday and these are the countries that must lose their US aid!
Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Angola, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belarus, Belgium, Belize, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cape Verde, Cambodia, Chad, Chile, China, Comoros, Congo, Costa Rica, Cuba, Cyprus, Denmark, Djibouti, Dominica, Ecuador, Egypt, Eritrea, Estonia, Finland, France, Gabon, Gambia, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Grenada, Guinea, Guyana, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Italy, Ivory Coast, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madagascar, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Malta, Mauritania, Mauritius, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, North Korea, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, St Vincent and Grenadines, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Somalia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, Macedonia, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Yemen, and Zimbabwe.
We are making a lot of progress on this. Your activism is pushing Congress towards finally doing what they have been promising for years: cut off international funding to countries and organizations that go after us.
Little by little, Democrats and Republicans are starting to see the UN for what it really is. Little by little, Congressmen and Senators are starting to wake up and ask why we’re funding organizations and countries that vehemently oppose us.
And there really isn’t any excuse for it. There is no excuse for sending American taxdol lars overseas so that the United Nations can then use it to undermine our sovereignty.
