Today, Mitch McConnell has been called to the White House. President Donald Trump wants to speak with him. You can guess why…
As you remember a few months ago, the President was asked by a reporter ‘should Mitch McConnell step down?’
“Well, I’ll tell you what. If he doesn’t get repeal and replace done and if he doesn’t get taxes done – meaning cuts and reform – and if he doesn’t get a very easy one to get done, infrastructure… If he doesn’t get them done, then you can ask me that question.”
Well, here we are. Obamacare repeal failed, Tax reform is now rumored to be pushed into next year, and infrastructure is nowhere to be found. Not to mention that Congress still hasn’t passed Pres. Trump’s immigration initiatives, pro-2nd amendment bills, or any of the other promises they made.
We need to clean house in the GOP leadership and tell Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell two simple words: You’re fired!
It is no secret how Trump feels about the current GOP leadership in Congress. Remember when McConnell publicly criticized Trump for having ‘excessive expectations?” After seven years, McConnell said it was unreasonable to just expect Congressional Republicans to do what they promised. After all of this inaction, Trump has even gone so far as to call McConnell a disgrace.
And don’t get me wrong – Paul Ryan is no better. Did you know that right now, the Democrats are planning to try to shut down the government unless Congress passes full-blown amnesty? Does anyone actually trust Ryan not to cave to their demands? Does anyone trust Paul Ryan to do anything that he has promised?
It is long overdue. It is time to drain the swamp.
Already, Conservative organizations like Freedomworks have called McConnell a “failure in the Senate” and declared that Congress’ future should not have him in it. Donors are pulling the plug and refusing to donate to them anymore. It is time for all of us to pull the plug as well.
It is time to force Congress to move on from the Ryan-McConnell era once and for all.
But in order for that to happen, it is going to take all of us, in one voice, demanding that these do-nothings be kicked to the curb!
We have been calling for their removal for months, ever since it became clear they had no intention of carrying out the Conservative agenda they promised and that we voted for. Now, we have the backing of every major conservative organization.
It is time to strike.
