One of the provisions that the House of Representatives will be voting on today is the full defunding of planned parenthood.
Next month is tax day. If this provision passes, this will be the first year in decades that your tax dollars will not be used to fund this butcher shop.
Over the past 3-4 years that we have been around, we have staunchly fought to protect the rights of the unborn. We have dedicated so much time and resources to killing this pro-death organization.
When videos revealed that Planned Parenthood doctors were actually harvesting fetal organs and selling them for profit, I knew that this was a truly evil organization that we are dealing with.
The provision that Congress is voting on today would prohibit federal dollars from going to any organization that provides abortions. Period. The bill would rip $500 million dollars away from this butcher shop and put an end to this barbarism.
I cannot stand by while this opportunity stares us in the face. I cannot just let this pass us by.
The repeal and replace bill is not perfect. But we cannot allow perfect to be the enemy of good.
The amount of good that we can accomplish is immeasurable. We can save a countless number of lives.
I was born premature. I spent much of my early life in an incubator. I stand here, able to write this message to you, because I was lucky enough to be born to parents who valued life.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of Americans never get the opportunity to realize their God-given potential. Their life is snuffed out and our tax dollars allow that to happen. No more.
Early Thursday evening, the White House announced that Congress either passes this legislation today or the President will move on to tax reform and national security issues. And first thing this morning, President Trump tweeted that it would be a shame to allow Planned Parenthood to be funded because of disagreements over Obamacare repeal technicalities. He's right.
This is our one shot to put an end to the scourge of taxpayer funded abortion once and for all.
The legislation that this anti-abortion provision is attached to is the bill to repeal Obamacare. I don’t think that the bill is perfect, but it is a good start. From here, the bill will go to the Senate. It will be debated there, and then it will come back to the House for another vote. There is plenty of time to work out the kinks on the Obamacare repeal bill.
But this is the only way that Republicans can defund Planned Parenthood without risking a Democrat filibuster. This is our one shot at this.
Please, don’t let this opportunity pass us all by.
For years, Planned Parenthood has claimed that abortions are just a small percentage of what they do. If that’s true, then the choice is clear.
Either Planned Parenthood drops its abortion business and gets to keep receiving taxpayer money or they go out of business. Either way, we get rid of the world’s largest abortion provider.
This is our moment in history. This is the pro-life movement’s chance to defund this horrible organization once and for all. We have the chance to send Planned Parenthood to the ash heap of history.
The time is now.
