There it is. The Department of (in)Justice has officially announced that it will NOT prosecute Lois Lerner.
Even though the House of Representatives held Lois Lerner in contempt a year ago for refusing to testify on her involvement in the IRS targeting scandal, the Obama administration has decided that it will not prosecute her.
This is how low the White House will stoop to make the IRS scandal go away.
Two years ago, President Obama came out swinging, saying that the scandal of IRS agents targeting Conservative groups was “inexcusable, and Americans are right to be angry about it, and I am angry about it," he said. "I will not tolerate this kind of behavior in any agency, but especially in the IRS, given the power that it has and the reach that it has into all of our lives."
This is how the Obama administration operates. It feigns outrage when the cameras are rolling and then stalls until the American public forgets about it.
Not this time! Congress doesn’t need the DOJ, they have the Constitutional power to arrest Lois Lerner and put her on trial. But the only way that happens is if you and likeminded patriots demand it!
While seldom used, the Congressional arrest powers are well grounded within the law and have survived Supreme Court challenges (Anderson v. Dunn; Jurney v. MacCracken)
Both the House and the Senate can have the Sergeant-at-Arms arrest anyone held in contempt and force him or her to testify. Not only that, but Congress has the power to throw people in the Capitol Jail for the duration of the Congressional session (two years maximum).
Right now, the White House is celebrating. They think they’ve won. By refusing to prosecute Lois Lerner, they are rewarding her for keeping her mouth shut.
They want you to believe that this is the end. But it isn’t the end.
Congress has the power to arrest Lois Lerner and throw her in jail until she cooperates. That’s not something that is up for debate… it is fact.
But right now, the GOP is trying to convince you they’re powerless to stop this administration from running roughshod over the Constitution.
When Obama unconstitutionally uses executive orders to change the law, Congress conveniently forgets they have the power to impeach.
When Obama threatens to push the Iran nuclear deal through the UN, Congress conveniently forgets they have the power to ratify treaties.
And when Obama administration officials refuse to arrest Lois Lerner and other criminal bureaucrats, Congress conveniently forgets they also have the power to arrest and imprison anyone held in contempt.
I’ve had enough of Congress forgetting… It is time to make them REMEMBER the oath they took to defend the Constitution and the Republic against all enemies, foreign and domestic!
Right now, Lois Lerner is living comfortably in a DC-area suburb and continues to collect a taxpayer-funded pension. That is ridiculous!
Congress has already held her in contempt. Now it is up to YOU to demand that they crook and send her where she belongs: Jail!
Tell Congress they must ARREST Lois Lerner and throw her in jail until she testifies!
