Barack Obama is a lot of things… He is ignorant when it comes to foreign policy, he is a tyrant who has chosen to rule the country by executive fiat, and Barack Obama has a real knack for destroying American jobs. You see, Barack Hussein Obama thinks he has the “Midas Touch” when it comes to creating jobs. Except, instead of everything the President touches turning to gold, everything Obama touches turns to pink slips!
Barack Obama and the Democrats have become so good at killing jobs that even when presented with the facts, they continue to lie to American people!
The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office announced that two of the Democrat party’s key pillars – Obamacare and a minimum wage hike – would ultimately destroy 3 million American jobs over the next decade. Yet, Obama and the Democrats press onward!
Every time a large piece of legislation is introduced, or even when a significant policy change is proposed, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) is charged with evaluating the economic impacts of said legislation.
The CBO estimates that the incentive of free healthcare will encourage 2.5 million people to leave the workforce all together. How did the Democrats respond? They cheered!
The CBO report “rightfully says that people shouldn’t have job lock,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV). “We live in a country where we should be free agents. People can do what they want.”
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi responded to the report, explaining that what Democrats see is that “people are leaving their jobs because they are no longer job-locked.” Even though Pelosi never read the Affordable Care Act or the CBO report, she claims that this is all by design. Pelosi believes that we should have the “liberty” to be able to quit our jobs and become artists full time...
This so-called “job lock” is a part of life. People can’t just get up and quit their jobs to become full time poets or painters. If you want to see how that type of system works, look at Greece. Even in the midst of the Greek economic turmoil, the people are still clinging to the backwards notion that they deserve extra leisure time.
The American people don’t need leisure time. They need jobs so they can afford leisure time. Barack Obama and the Democrats don’t seem to understand that…
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sibelius has gone further than most Democrats and claimed that “there is absolutely no evidence… that there is any job loss related to the Affordable Care Act.” Obviously, Sec. Sibelius hasn’t gotten word that the Democrats in Congress are celebrating this very phenomenon!
While the administration is out calling the Congressional Budget Office a fraud, actual businesses are coming out and verifying that Obamacare is, without a doubt, a job killer. The Advanced Medical Technology Association has surveyed its members in an attempt to calculate the number of jobs lost just since Obamacare’s 2.3% excise tax on medical devices went into effect. The medical device tax was celebrated by Democrats for raising about $3.8 billion every year to help pay for Obamacare. However, what these idiots in power don’t realize is that all $3.8 billion has been taken out of employees’ paychecks. It is for this reason that the Advanced Medical Technology Association estimates that 33,000 jobs have already been lost just because of this one component of Obamacare.
Is Kathleen Sibelius a liar? Probably… At the very least, she is just as incompetent as the rest of her party who is celebrating over the prospect of freeing Americans from the burdens of full time employment.
This liberalism is a disease that seeks to strip away our ability to provide for ourselves. The productive are taxed just so the unproductive can remain unproductive! This must be stopped!
A second report that was just released by the Congressional Budget Office has estimated that the Democrats’ plan to increase the minimum wage by 39% would also lead to 500k people losing their jobs. The current Federal minimum wage is $7.25/hour. Obama and the Democrats want to increase that to $10.10/hour, which represents a 39% increase. Do the Democrats honestly believe that small businesses operate on a large enough profit margin to offset a forced, 39% payroll increase? This is even more evidence of how harmful government can be when the people in charge have never worked a day in their life or ever struggled to make payroll!
While such a wage hike would obviously increase the earnings for some minimum wage workers, it would be at the expense of others who would be forced to find another job!
The minimum wage, like every other liberal policy, is a job killer. Income redistribution is, by definition, an attempt to transfer wealth from one group to another. Democrats are licking their lips at an opportunity to stick it to “big business” and force them to pay workers even more. However, what they don’t realize is that this proposal hurts small businesses who are struggling to get by while the President’s policies are bleeding them dry. A minimum wage hike won’t take money from business men… it will take the money from other minimum wage workers who will suddenly be out of a job.
The President and the Democrats don’t know how to create jobs. If they did, they would have done it. I get emails every day from people blaming the current unemployment numbers on Bush and the GOP. What these people fail (or refuse) to understand is that from 2009-2011, the Democrats controlled Congress and the Presidency. If they had the solution, they could have pushed it through then. But, Liberals don’t have a solution to unemployment. They only understand two potential approaches: Throw money at the problem (like the Stimulus) or take money from the rich and give it to the poor. Both approaches have been complete and utter policy failures!
The Democrats had two whole years to pass whatever jobs-related legislation they wanted. Instead, they pushed through the Affordable Care Act, which will destroy 2.5 million jobs alone!
The Democrats don’t seem to care about the job losses they are creating because every person forced to rely on government assistance is, in their eyes, one more Democrat voter!
We must send a message to Washington, D.C. that this is unacceptable! I am tired of watching the Obama administration and Congressional Democrats celebrate when their policies destroy jobs!
Barack Obama claims to have the Midas Touch. He thinks that every piece of legislation he proposes is solid gold. He is delusional. Everything he touches doesn’t turn to gold… everything he touches turns to pink slips!
