The Second Amendment was put into the Bill of Rights to protect citizens from a tyrannical federal government that was out of control and usurping their rights. Firearms confiscation is the prelude to even more tyranny than we have seen in the last few years.

Congress must know that we the people do not support gun control legislation. We have been very vocal in our opposition to Obama’s political posturing and the mainstream media’s gun demonstrations on Sunday talk shows. “This is an issue that we are not going to run from. It is an issue we need to talk about,” said Harry Reid. And for the first time ever, we actually agree with the Senator from Nevada.
We cannot run from this issue; we have to keep talking about the Second Amendment and the reason for its existence, before Obama and his supporters turn gun rights into something simply recreational. And every single Member of Congress needs to know that we will not compromise our Constitutional rights, and we will hold those that do accountable in 2014.

The good news coming out of the Senate is that Reid has pledged to hold an open amendment vote on a major gun reform bill. This means some of the more restrictive measures proposed by Senator Feinstein and Rep. Carolyn McCarthy could get hashed out in the amendment process and eliminated. This is where Republicans (and centrist Democrats) need to step up and stop harsh language that has been proposed by Feinstein and endorsed by Obama.
This is likely just political posturing from Reid, who has a history of preventing Republicans from introducing amendments. We don’t want any gun control language, of course, and that is what we will keep pushing for. But at the very least, this move could help stop many of the more draconian measures the Far Left wants put in place, and it could make every House and Senate member think twice before they vote—because they will know that we are watching their actions on this very important issue, and elections in 2014 and 2016 will reflect either our satisfaction, or disappointment, with their votes.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy wants to hold hearings next week, so now is the time to remind our representatives how we feel about them tinkering with our Second Amendment rights.
Obama is desperately trying to change the narrative on gun control to make it about saving our children, in the wake of the Sandy Hook shootings. But it’s not, because we know none of the “solutions” gun control advocates are proposing would have stopped Sandy Hook, and beyond that, the very idea of saving children seems laughable coming from the party who advocates abortion.
Obama also wants to make guns all about hunting. Again, it’s not. His lame attempt at saying he goes skeet shooting “all the time” was doubly offensive: first, to legitimate sportsmen and secondly, to all of us who know that the freedom to have a firearm goes beyond shooting a dove or a deer for sport; owning a gun is our security blanket against an out of control government led by an arrogant dictator.
Obama’s intent is to take away your right to own a firearm, period. This is the very beginning. And he plans to take at least 23 executive actions toward that goal, with or without Congressional action. Your tax dollars and your freedom are going to be eaten up by his socialist agenda as he rolls healthcare, welfare, illegal immigration, privacy intrusions, free speech restrictions and United Nations demands into one large state complex led by him, our dear leader.
Disarming the population is the first step.
This is nothing short of an attack on law-abiding American citizens and our freedoms.
Obama is barely into his second term and his intent to destroy our Constitution could not be clearer. The fight to save the Second Amendment is only the beginning. Once they disarm us, every right we are guaranteed under the Constitution will be up for grabs. It is imperative that we join together and refuse to allow Barack Obama to destroy this nation.
Samuel Adams proclaimed, “The Constitution shall never be construed... to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms.” And there are many more quotes by our forefathers outlining the Second Amendment’s intent. Unfortunately, liberals have abandoned our Constitution. Unless we stop every one of their methodical and deliberate actions against the foundation of this country, America, as we know it will cease to exist.
Once they disarm us, it’s over. Stand up for freedom, protect yourself against tyranny and demand Congress honor the rights we are guaranteed under our Constitution.
