On September 11, 2012 terrorists once again attacked the United States. This time the attack did not occur within the borders of the US, but instead it came in the form of an attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Four people were murdered in the attack; including American Ambassador to Libya, J. Christopher Stevens. It is time for Congress to step up to the plate and act. A Congressional investigation is the only way to honor our fallen heroes and demand accountability from the White House. Congress must determine how many laws Obama broke in covering up the truth from the American people.
In the aftermath of the attack, President Obama publicly stated that the impetus behind the violence was civilians protesting a film depicting the Muslim prophet Mohammed. In doing so, he knowingly and willingly lied to the American people. As we will demonstrate later, the Obama Administration knew that Al-Qaeda had orchestrated the attack. President Barack Hussein Obama decided to lie to the American people so that he might not lose face during his bid for reelection. Americans were murdered and Obama was worried about keeping his job. We must demand a Congressional investigation into the cover-up in order to determine if the administration engaged in any illegal activity and to determine the entire truth behind the attack. Four dead American citizens gave their lives for this country; we must not allow Obama to posthumously disrespect these patriots for his own selfish goals.

Earlier this week, the President addressed the United Nations (UN). During his speech he once again attributed the attack to spontaneous protests by Muslim citizens in Libya. This was in contravention of statements made by members in his own administration who had finally dropped their untruthful rhetoric in favor of the truth: that the attacks were preplanned and committed by terrorists. Once again, President Obama has failed the American people and he has been caught trying to cover up this latest failure.It gets much worse. Not only did the President KNOWINGLY lie to the American people in an effort to get reelected, he was also warned of a possible terrorist attack on our embassy in Libya at least 24 hours beforehand!! There are even reports saying that there was actionable intelligence more than a week before the tragic events transpired. Yet Obama did NOTHING. He allowed Americans to die so that he could save his job. His Presidency will forever be marred with the blood of American martyrs. We must respect their memories and demand a Congressional investigation into the attack and cover up. Congress must determine what punishment is appropriate for such a treasonous act by a sitting President.
Today, sources have confirmed that the President knew that the sacking of the embassy in Libya was a preplanned terrorist attack by Al-Qaeda almost immediately after the attack took place. This was obvious to anyone looking at the facts. What kind of spontaneous mob totes around rocket launchers, grenades, and mortar shells? Further, the President of Libya came out and said it was a terrorist attack; yet Obama still obfuscated the truth and kept lying to all of us so that this latest foreign policy failure wouldn’t hurt his poll numbers. He has been caught in a lie to the American people. The question remains, what else has he lied about?
Let’s not forget, Libya is the same country where President Obama spiked the football after former Libyan dictator Muammar Gadhafi was deposed and later killed. In typical Obama fashion, he took credit for the success of others. Unfortunately, after the celebration, he didn’t bother to properly secure the American Embassy. The US Ambassador killed in the attack, J. Christopher Stevens, wrote in his diary that he was on an Al-Qaeda kill list and feared an imminent terrorist attack. Did the President pay attention to the Ambassador’s concerns? Nope. He was too busy attending fundraisers and playing golf. In fact, the week before the terrorist attack, Obama didn’t bother to attend a single intelligence briefing, despite actionable intelligence warning of a possible active terror cell in Libya ready to strike American interests.
Think that’s bad? Since President Obama was inaugurated he has skipped over 66% of his intelligence briefings. Unbelievable! In a post 9/11 world, it is unfathomable that a sitting President would care so little for the lives of the American people that he would put their safety on the backburner so that he might keep his job.
It has been reported that President Bush attended nearly every intelligence briefing after 9/11. He understood the world had changed after the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon; he knew the best way to keep Americans safe was to stay fully informed about our enemies. Perhaps that’s why President Bush was able to prevent further attacks. President Obama’s failure to attend these meetings demonstrates the lack of respect he holds for American lives. If he had actionable intelligence and didn’t bother to follow up on it, shouldn’t Congress investigate and ask why? The President is NOT above the law and the American people have the right to know why he is acting in such a treasonous manner. We must demand that Congress investigates the situation so that we might know why American patriots were forced to die needlessly.
Congress must get to the bottom of this issue. We the people have the right to know what Obama knew, when he knew it, and why he lied about it. We deserve a full investigation into diplomatic cables that the Obama Administration refuses to release for fear of further embarrassment. We have the right to know just how incompetent the President really is. We also have a right to know if there was illegal activity in covering up this mess. Finally, Congress must decide whether Barack Hussein Obama purposefully ignored our fallen ambassador and made a conscious decision to allow the attack to take place. Congress must investigate the possibility of treason.
