OBAMA SUPPORTS BAN ON ASSAULT WEAPONS
Unfortunately, our Second Amendment rights are still under attack—by both the United Nations, that is still working to get their treaty written, and the Obama administration, who has never been a friend of gun owners.
On Monday August 6th, White House spokesman Jay Carney was asked about Obama’s position on renewing the assault weapons ban. Carney responded,
“He does support renewing the assault weapons ban.”
But then he added something very important to note:“The president’s approach is that we should work with Congress where possible — and administratively where allowed — to advance common-sense measures that enhance our security, that keep deadly weapons out of the hands of criminals and others who shouldn’t have them…” He also mentioned that “there has been reluctance by Congress to pass that renewal.”
What Jay Carney was saying is that, Congress isn’t giving in on Second Amendment rights, so President Obama will have to go around them and implement his own executive orders to take away our freedom.

We’ve seen it over and over during the past four years of Obama’s reign. He wants something done and Congress won’t do it. So, Obama bypasses not only Congress and the American people, but essentially our entire system of law. He rules through the Executive branch and ignores the Legislative one.Clearly, gun control is going to be another issue where he takes matters into his own hands.
That cannot happen, and that is why Conservative-Daily.com is watching this issue and we will keep you informed about what the President says and does in the coming weeks and months. The only way to prevent him from completely eliminating our Second Amendment rights is to be aware of what he is up to and express our opinions to Congress. We also have to forward these messages to everyone we know and get them involved in defending our Constitution, which has been under constant attack ever since Obama’s inauguration in January, 2009.

They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence … from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurrences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable … the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference — they deserve a place of honor with all that’s good.”
But many want to remove the right to own a firearm from that place of honor and instead make it impossible for American citizens to own one.
Not only is our President against this right, but the United Nations wants to weaken America by restricting our freedoms.
The United Nations Small Arms Treaty would force you to participate in an international firearm registry and would eventually confiscate your weapons and ban private ownership. The U.N. treaty seeks to decimate our Second Amendment. It will give crooks and thugs at the United Nations control over your freedoms and your right to own and operate a firearm.
As we mentioned earlier, the Small Arms Treaty wasn’t finalized this last July. But that doesn’t mean it’s dead. The U.N. has been working since the mid-1990s to get this Small Arms Treaty passed, and their next opportunity is in late August.

It seems Obama agrees with that notion, and so does Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
What is even more preposterous is that Iran—a nation accused of sending weapons into Syria despite Security Council warnings--was overseeing UN negotiations. And China, one of the biggest human rights violators in the world, was a key player with the treaty. They just released a report on U.S. human rights which includes the remark, “The United States prioritizes the right to keep and bear arms over the protection of citizens’ lives and personal security and exercises lax firearm possession control, causing rampant gun ownership.”

Don’t believe the noise you hear about our Constitution being safe from U.N. treaties. The gun grabbers want you to think there is nothing to worry about. However, we know better.
We don’t have a President in the White House who is interested in defending our Constitution. Obama has proven time and time again he’s willing to tear down the foundations of this country in order to impose his agenda—and his agenda includes handing over our sovereignty to a world body like the United Nations.
In theory, Congress has the authority to nullify a treaty legislatively and federal courts have the power to overturn any unconstitutional terms. But, will they do it? Do you trust our President to stand by our Constitution? He ignores our laws and does what he wants.
That is why Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) has introduced S. 2205 (the equivalent House bill is H.R. 4864), a bill that will ensure even if the U.N.’s Treaty is ratified, the United States of America will not have to comply with its provisions because Congress will REFUSE TO FUND IT. S. 2205 will preserve American sovereignty, protect the Second Amendment, and prevent the United Nations from taking your guns!
We must continue to alert the Senate that we will in no way accept this U.N. Small Arms Trade Treaty, and we must tell both chambers to pass S.2205 and H.R. 4864, preventing funding of the ATT.
Whether the U.N. gets this treaty developed this month, next month, or next year, every Member of Congress must be made aware that gun right restriction is something the American people categorically reject, and they need to know their jobs are on the line if they allow an international body to begin stripping away our Constitutional rights.
We must make sure legislation is in place to protect our Second Amendment regardless of what the globalists at the U.N. decide to do about the Treaty.
Abraham Lincoln said, “We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.”
Please help us make sure Congress knows that we will not stand for the United Nations destroying our freedoms, our country, and the dreams of our Founding Fathers.
