Attorney General Eric Holder Should Be Out Of Options

But Republicans seem determined to give him an out

It was YOU who finally forced the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee to vote to send a contempt resolution against U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to the floor of the entire House.

And, unfortunately, only YOU are capable of holding the feet of Republicans to the fire if there is EVER going to be an end game to the Fast & Furious scandal!

Here's where we are at the moment, and the omens portend essentially an equal chance of success or failure… depending on how we act.

It pains us to report that Republicans, and particularly Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), represent the only remaining stumbling blocks to be overcome if justice is to be served against the Attorney General and the Obama administration.

During the very act of drafting the final contempt resolution against Holder, Rep. Issa and his cronies said the resolution would be brought up this week, "depending on whether Holder delivers the subpoenaed documents."

Issa himself said that the contempt proceedings weren't about Holder, but rather "a narrow subset of documents that this committee must ultimately receive."

IN OTHER WORDS: REPUBLICANS WILL LET HIM OFF THE HOOK IF HE HANDS THEM SOME PIECES OF PAPER THAT HE HAS LAUGHED IN THEIR FACES ABOUT FOR MORE THAN A YEAR!

Do you think for a second that you would be able to get away with serial contempt of Congress? Do you think that in the final moments of the fourth quarter, you could hand over some heavily-redacted e-mails and skate with a "Thank You, sir?" If you have been following this fiasco for any length of time, it would be very surprising if you weren't as disgusted by Republic action as Conservative Daily is at the moment.

Or, more appropriately, LACK of action. You've forced the Committee to produce a Resolution to be sent to the House floor.

That resolution is fairly short, only three paragraphs, the gist of which can be found in its first sentence:

"Resolved, That Eric H. Holder, Jr., Attorney General of the United States, shall be found to be in contempt of Congress for failure to comply with a congressional subpoena."

BUT THAT'S NOT ENOUGH IF REPUBLICANS CAVE!

The Resolution concludes by stating: "… the Speaker of the House shall otherwise take all appropriate action to enforce the subpoena."

And therein lies the rub. Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) is in what HE perceives to be a very delicate position. Democrats, knowing full well that complete truth revealed about Fast & Furious would be disastrous, have circled their wagons to what actually might end up being a very effective defensive tactic:

The Republicans are using a witch-hunt as election year politics, they say.

Liberal satirist Stephen Colbert on his Friday telecast referred to efforts to reach the bottom of the scandal as "Complicated? Yes. The fevered ramblings of a syphilitic brain? Perhaps."

But all is not lost! At least a FEW Republicans have stepped up to the plate, in response to your tireless efforts, with the considered knowledge that they will look worse if they cave to the mainstream media, the Obama administration, and the Republican Leadership rather than recognize your TRUTH.

Possible Vice-President candidate Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida said on Thursday, "I think we’ve about reached the point of no return on this issue."

Texas Senator John Cornyn this month informed Holder that he had "left me with no choice but to join those who call for you to resign your office."

It has been noted on Capitol Hill that we have spent millions of taxpayer dollars to investigate baseball steroid use, while government wrongdoing of this import is staring us in the face!

So what is the be-all and end-all?

Quite simply, Republicans. Will they stand tall, or will they grovel in the hopes of not being seen as "mean people" in an election year?

Of particular concern are Speaker of the House John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Ordinarily, contempt of the House is a House matter, and the Senate really can't do anything about it. But this historic situation is different… ONLY BECAUSE REPUBLICANS ARE TOO WORRIED ABOUT THE ELECTION TO BE TRUSTED TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT!

You can be certain that Republican Leadership in BOTH the House and the Senate are in pretty much daily contact about this, because the consequences are so potentially HUGE.

It is the considered opinion of Conservative Daily that just a few powerful Republicans individuals, whether in the House or the Senate, could derail the entire situation.

It is imperative that we force Republicans to fear us more than the media! We can afford to ignore the Democrats ENTIRELY at this point.

Please, please help us by clicking here to hold Republicans to their due diligence!

A sell-out supposed ally is worse than a genuine enemy acting with the courage of their convictions, however wrong those convictions might be.

If we can't keep our own house in order, how can we defeat the liberals who stand together no matter what?

Please act now by clicking here, or all of our efforts may end up in vain.

Sincerely,

P.S.:  This is HUGE! Holder's in contempt, you did that, and only the Republican Leadership can save him now! Please click here to keep up the pressure!
