I know that I am hard on Obama and his policies, but regarding CISPA, we are at his mercy.  We strongly urge President Obama to Veto The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA, or HR 3523).  The bill is far too broad and vague and will hamper our civil rights.

Although it is intended make us "safer" and make it easier for the government to communicate with companies in the event of a cyber threat, it will be misused and we will be the recipients of increasing oversight and our free speech will be diminished.

Despite White House objections (Obama has not actually threatened a veto), the House voted on Thursday to pass the bill voting 248-168 in favor.  Folks, the problem is not just this bill, but the aggregate of laws and rules being passed that are killing American democracy.  We need to resist our government turning into a Fascist run "dictatorship".

We already have the National Defense Authorization Act authorizing military detention for U.S. citizens.  The law gives the President the power to arrest anyone from anywhere, including a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil, and confine him in a military prison without charge.  Also this past year, Obama, who campaigned on "hope and change", claimed the right to declare anyone a terrorist or terrorist sympathizer based on no more than presidential opinion, and order their assassination; no evidence required!

The TSA is way overstepping their original charter and policing (without law enforcement training much like Brown Shirt Strom Troopers in Germany) not just at airports but on our roads, at rail stations and at sea terminals.  In addition, the House recently passed H.R. 347, further limiting our free speech.  And now we have HR 3523, CISPA!

It's time to stand up!

This warning from Thomas Jefferson in 1787 is worthy of our attention today:

"If we find our government in all its branches rushing headlong... into the arms of monarchy, if we find them violating our dearest rights, the trial by jury, the freedom of the press, the freedom of opinion, civil or religious, or opening on our peace of mind or personal safety the sluices of terrorism, if we see them raising standing armies, when the absence of all other danger points to these as the sole objects on which they are to be employed, then indeed let us withdraw and call the nation to its tents. But while our functionaries are wise, and honest, and vigilant, let us move compactly under their guidance, and we have nothing to fear..."

It is up the us, "we the people", to vote the incumbent bureaucrats out of office.  Vote this fall against Obama, against any long-term incumbent, against any member of government that opposes the Constitution of the United States.  If we do not take our country back by vote, we will have to make much more ominous choices later.

Please Stand Up.
