The budget deal didn’t get done on time. The Senate was still debating the GOP’s $1.1 Trillion spending bill.
That meant that in order to stave off a government shutdown, the two chambers of Congress passed a temporary Continuing Resolution to keep government open in the mean time.
It’s nothing but a temporary spending plan. Here’s the thing: in order to keep the Senate in session, Harry Reid has to hold votes over the weekend. Otherwise, Senators could just go home without a budget being passed.
In the next few days, Harry Reid plans to push through a number of Obama’s radical nominees for court positions and other government jobs!
Harry Reid’s time as the Senate Majority Leader is running out and he knows that the sun is setting on Obama’s leftist appointees. It still takes 60 votes to appoint many of these leftists, which means that 5 Republicans would have to go along with it.
It is up to YOU to DEMAND that not one Republican vote in favor of any of these radical nominees!
Harry Reid is trying to push through Obama’s radical nominees! Demand that the Republicans STOP him!
Some positions can be filled with a simple majority vote while others require a super-majority.
One radical that Reid is trying to push through is Vivek Murthy, Obama’s anti-gun Surgeon General nominee. He has come out on numerous occasions and claimed that Doctors should have a role to play in enforcing gun control.
Vivek Murthy has no business being Surgeon General. If confirmed, he has said that he would use his position to push for a ban on handguns and so-called “assault weapons”
Two-years ago today, a crazed gunman went into an elementary school in Newtown, CT and began killing children and teachers.
As tragic as that was for all of us, the Left wants to punish us to the crimes of one deranged gunman. You can expect the Democrats to push hard to confirm Vivek Murthy and other gun control nominees, especially given the importance of this anniversary.
But we need to hold the line. In a matter of weeks, Republicans will take control of the Senate. Then, the GOP will have complete control over vetting Barack Obama’s nominees for court or government positions.
The Democrats know this and they are determined to rush through as many leftist appointees as possible before ceding that control.
Even still, it will take a number of Republicans to vote alongside Reid to get these nominations confirmed. That CANNOT be allowed to happen!
We’re at the end of the line here. It is up to us to make sure that not one Republican accepts ANY of Barack Obama’s nominations now during this lame duck session!
In all honesty, my heart and prayers go out to all the families who lost loved ones in the Sandy Hook shooting. I can’t imagine what it would be like to receive that call and hear that my children were shot.
But I also can’t imagine how appointing a gun control Surgeon General will change anything, other than further polarizing the country.
Liberals need to understand that it isn’t the gun that kills, it is the pain and anger that these people harbor in their hearts. And the way to fix this is NOT to ram through as many of Barack Obama’s gun control appointees as possible.
This is happening right now and the Democrats will succeed unless you raise your voice and make sure that Republicans filibuster these appointments!
