About one month ago, it became known that Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), the feisty Democrat trying to derail the IRS investigation, was actually involved in urging the IRS to target Conservative non-profit groups. While Rep. Cummings was blasting the investigation into Lois Lerner and the IRS, him and his staff were secretly withholding information showing the Congressman’s involvement in the scandal.
Then, we learned that Lois Lerner also contacted Eric Holder’s Justice Department just before the scandal broke. The purpose of that correspondence? Lerner wanted to know if the DOJ would be able to prosecute conservative groups! You can’t make this stuff up!
We all knew that eventually, as the investigation moved forward, more relationships between Democrats and the IRS scandal would be revealed. It was only a matter of time. Working off of a tip, the National Senate Republican Committee (NSRC) filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the IRS seeking “any and all documents or records, including but not limited to electronic documents, e-mails, paper documents, photographs (electronic or hard copy), or audio files,” pertaining to conversations from January 1, 2009 and May 21, 2013 between thirteen different Democrat members of Congress and top IRS officials.
Like always, it took a lawsuit from an outside group to compel the Obama administration to actually follow the law and release the documents. And the results are nothing short of startling! The IRS scandal’s web now connects 13 new Congressmen and Senators who directly lobbied the tax agency to target Conservative groups!
Now pay attention, because the list of Congressional conspirators working with the IRS to target Conservative groups is getting pretty long. We already know that Representative Elijah Cummings is dirty. We also know that Senator Carl Levin (D-MI), ironically the Chairman on the Subcommittee on Investigations, corresponded with IRS officials about the targeting program throughout 2012. Sen. Levin announced his retirement just days before news broke of the scandal… coincidence?
Now, documents obtained by Judicial Watch show that in addition to Rep. Cummings and Sen. Levin, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Senate President Harry Reid (D-NV), DSCC Chair Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO), Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR), Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC), Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK), Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Sen. Mark Udall (D-CO), Sen. Al Franken (D-MN), Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), Rep. Bruce Braley (D-IA) and Rep. Gary Peters (D-MI) are also involved in the scandal! All of these individuals attached their name to an email sent to the IRS urging it to target new Conservative non-profit groups.
As you might notice, the names above in bold are Democrat Senators who are up for re-election this Fall and could actually lose their seats. When you hear talk of the Republicans taking back the Senate, realize that the path to this victory goes through all the Senators who conspired with Lois Lerner and the IRS to try to stop the rise of the Tea Party and the Conservative movement!
If there was ever a reason to get out the vote and kick these crooks out of office, this is that reason. The total number of Congressmen and Senators known to have conspired with the IRS has now grown to FIFTEEN!
These are individuals who are supposed to work to protect you from out-of-control government corruption. However, if you disagree with them politically, these corrupt politicians will stop at nothing to ensure that your voice is silenced!
It’s not enough to just hope that these 15 legislators lose their jobs. They must be suspended and removed from offices pending a full investigation!
Why is it that career criminals like Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer can coordinate with the IRS to target their opposition, but nothing ever happens to them? Why is it that when Democrats are found to have broken the law while in office, they just get a slap on the wrist (if they’re even punished at all)?
That is a list of 15 legislators who used their power and position to compel the executive branch to target their political opposition. Back in the day, people like this would have been tarred and feathered. And then, when people got tired of tarring and feathering them, they would have been taken out back and shot! Yet today, it has become fashionable to break the law in Congress and not only are these criminals allowed to keep their titles, but they are usually celebrated and rewarded!
We must take action now! We cannot afford to wait until November and hope that these criminals lose their re-election campaigns.
If these new documents prove anything, it is that all fifteen of these Congressmen and Senators will stop at NOTHING to ensure their re-election and the success of the Democrat party. These are people who were literally caught using the IRS to target their political opponents during a crucial election year. Are we supposed to just believe that come November, the election will be fair?
Fool me once, shame on you… Fool me twice, shame on me!
Whenever a Congressman or Senator is revealed to have coordinated with the IRS to target Conservative non-profit groups, they must be immediately suspended, removed from office, and the case must be turned over to an independent prosecutor! If we allow these corrupt politicians to remain in office, you can rest assured that they will find a way to steal re-election!
